The Costs of Calling and Owning
Confused about how much 0800 numbers cost to call, or are you a business owner wanting to advertise one?
We’ve got it all covered in our detailed 0800 costs guide.
Business who begin advertising an 0800 number are proven to receive an increase in incoming calls. Our customers report receiving up to 185% more business calls within weeks of connecting a new Freephone number.
An 0800 number could be one of most cost effective and powerful investments your business could make.
From 1st July 2015 the cost of calling most non-geographic numbers changed. This was to clear up public confusion that was caused by varying call costs to some numbers and to boost trust in all business telephone numbers. Ofcom described these changes as “the biggest changes to phone calls in over a decade”.
The result was great news for both callers to and operators of 0800 numbers as Ofcom declared that all calls to 0800 from and UK landline and mobile should be completely free. Previously the calls were only free from a landline with calls costing anything up to 41p per minute from mobiles.
Now when you hear an 0800 number referred to as ‘Freephone’ it is exactly that – you will never be charged for calling one providing you have a UK landline or mobile.
This is the same for all the major mobile networks in the UK, including EE, O2, Vodafone and 3 Mobile.
If you’re a business owner looking to set up an 0800 number the costs are really small, especially when compared to the benefits an 0800 number can bring. There is no better business number to help boost a marketing campaign or help a business move up to a whole new level of customer service.
It’s simple, because 0800 numbers are Freephone they are extremely customer friendly. By advertising one you give a way for your customers to call you as often as they need without incurring any call costs themselves.
If you advertise an 0800 number you as a business pay for all the calls you receive. This could either through a per minute cost, or (more commonly) by paying a monthly fee for a batch of inbound minutes. The cost can depend on whether you receive calls to either your landline or mobile.
It’s easy, simply choose a package, a number and your call management services. The package that is best for your business depends on if you wa nt to receive your business calls to a landline or mobile:
